Rehearsals

The ESO rehearses every Tuesday evening during term time at St. Michael’s C of E Primary School, South Lawn Terrace, Heavitree, EX1 2SN from 7.15-9.30 p.m. There is normally a short interval for coffee provided by members.

Please arrive promptly for 7.15 pm (tuning), for a 7.30 start and let your section leader know if you are unable to attend a rehearsal.

Rehearsals start on 6th January.
No rehearsal half term, 17th February

Player Vacancies

We generally field a full symphony orchestra, but we do have vacancies from time to time. There are no formal auditions for prospective new players. Grade 7/8 is the minimum standard, and string players must be able to play in tune overall. Membership is granted after attending a number of rehearsals and with the approval of Brian Northcott, Musical Director, and the relevant section leaders. Subscription

The annual member’s subscription for the 2008-9 season is £60, or £22 per termly session if paid by half-term. The subscription is £24 per term if paid after half term.
